ABOUT KUIEKEM STUDIO
Where Strategy Meets Design
Kuiekem Studio designs boutique hotels and food venues where every interior decision serves the brand, the guest, and the bottom line. Bold, refined spaces built to perform.
I’m Katleen Kuiekem, founder of Kuiekem Studio.
I design boutique hotels and experience led food venues with a love for colour, bold pattern, and refined contrasts. My work is expressive but always intentional. Every choice ties back to who the venue is, who the guest is, and how the space should make them feel.
What shapes my approach is a combination of things. I’ve lived in 6 countries across 2 continents, from Cameroon to France, Spain, UK, Tunisia and Germany. Those experiences gave me something I rely on in every project: an instinct for how different people experience space, comfort, and beauty. I’m also a painter and someone who loves working with her hands, so I think about texture, materiality, and craft as naturally as I think about layout and flow.
I also bring eight years of strategy consulting into my design process. That means structured thinking, clear project management, and a focus on what the space needs to achieve commercially, not just aesthetically. It’s the reason my clients often say the process felt as good as the result.
My goal is simple: interiors that feel bold, premium, and unmistakably yours. Spaces that guests notice, that support your pricing, and that you’re proud to put your name on.
Jump on a call with me to see if we’re the right fit. We’ll discuss your venue, your vision, and I’ll share my honest first thoughts on where to focus.
Your interior is your brand story, told without words. Every colour, texture, and detail communicates what you stand for and why guests should come back.
Our Process
Designed with structure. Delivered with clarity.
Phase 1: Align
Every project starts with understanding. Understanding your business, understanding your expectations, and understanding your pain points. You complete a short questionnaire and we meet for a strategy call to discuss your venue, your goals, and what's not working today. This isn't a design consultation. It's a structured conversation to get to the heart of your project and see if we're the right fit. If we are, you receive a clear fee proposal covering scope, deliverables, timeline, and commercial terms. You walk away with: a clear scope, honest pricing, and confidence that we understand what you're building
Phase 2: Shape
We audit your business context, guest journey, perception gaps, and positioning. Then we develop a design vision that brings your brand, your market positioning, and your interior aesthetic into harmony, because a beautiful space that tells a different story than your brand is a missed opportunity. From there come the layout proposals options you can mix and match to find the strongest plan for how guests move through and experience your space. Then a full 3D concept so you can see and feel the result before any decisions are final. Nothing moves forward without your sign-off. You walk away with: a fully visualised, approved concept where your brand, your positioning, and your guest experience tell one clear story.
Phase 3: Deliver
We specify every piece of furniture, lighting, finish, and material with quality, durability, and your budget in mind. Hospitality spaces take heavy daily use, so we select pieces that still hold up years later. You maintain full visibility on costs and approve every selection before ordering begins. During the build, we work alongside your contractors to protect the design intent: clarifying details, reviewing progress, and stepping in when something drifts. We stay involved until the finished space matches what was agreed. You walk away with: a space that matches the renders, works for your team, supports your pricing, and is ready for guests.
