UNDERSTANDING YOUR PROJECT

Book a Residential Discovery Call

A 30-minute conversation to talk about your home, your ideas, and what you’d like to change. We’ll get to know your style, your priorities, and see if we’re the right fit to bring your vision to life.

Every beautiful space started with one conversation.

What to expect on the discovery call?

This isn’t a design consultation. It’s a conversation to understand your project, what needs to change, and whether the style, budget, and fit are right for both sides.

In 30 minutes, we’ll cover:

Your space, what you have today, what’s working, and what isn’t.

Your vision, how you’d like your home to feel, any styles or references you’re drawn to, and what matters most to you in the result.

Your priorities, budget range, timeline, and any practical constraints like rental restrictions, family needs, or phased work.

Fit and next steps, we’ll be honest about whether your project is right for Kuiekem Studio, and if it is, we’ll outline exactly what happens next.

After booking, you’ll receive a link to our intake questionnaire. Please complete it before the call, and send us as much visual material as possible: photos of your space, floor plans, videos, inspiration images. The more we see in advance, the more useful our 30 minutes together will be. The call will only take place once the questionnaire is completed.

The Experience, In Their Words

It is best said by those who worked with us.

Katleen was in charge of designing our juice bar in Yaounde and she successfully encapsulated the various design ideas and moods we had in mind. We had to work remotely, which added an additional challenge to the project but she proved to be responsive and very organized. She is not only talented but patient, thorough and incredibly ressourceful. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and I will not hesitate to recommend her or work with her on any future project.

Rose Ze Meka Balop

Katleen was professional, efficient and attentive to my requirements throughout the process. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled and reliable interior designer.

(...) Katleen is really full of fresh ideas! What is so special about her is her mesmerizing ability to catch one's taste. She is a master when it comes to matching colors and fabrics together. I would definitely recommend her services and not just because she is my friend!

Audrey Komguem

(...) Since the beginning we felt understood: Katleen pulled the concept out of us in a way that you don't even realize. It took 3 conversations for her to figure out where to head towards and what to do to gain each of us into a common project. (...) We appreciate very much the guidance we got from Katleen! She is so patient and has such an easy going way that makes working with her so easy. Her attention to detail is incredible. The project would not have looked the same.

FAQ

Common Questions

Every hospitality project is different, so we don't offer fixed packages. Pricing depends on the scope, the size of the venue, the level of detail required, and whether the project is a new build or a repositioning of an existing space. After the strategy call, you receive a clear fee proposal with a defined scope, deliverables, timeline, and commercial terms so you know exactly what you're investing in before any work begins.

Timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, our current availability, and your budget. A larger budget allows us to move faster by bringing in additional specialists and prioritising sourcing. A phased approach takes longer but spreads the investment over time.

As a general guide, a single key area like a restaurant dining room or a model hotel suite typically takes 4 to 6 months from strategy call to completed concept. A full hotel or large venue project can take 8 to 14 months or more, depending on scope and build coordination. We provide a clear timeline estimate in your fee proposal so you can plan accordingly.

At Kuiekem Studio, we start by understanding your positioning and guest feedback, then prioritise the areas where guests judge you most: first impressions, key touchpoints, and high-impact moments. The goal is to invest in hospitality design where it meaningfully improves perceived value and the guest experience, because that's what supports stronger reviews, higher pricing confidence, and repeat visits.

Kuiekem Studio works on boutique hotel interior design and restaurant interior design projects including guest rooms, junior suites, hotel lobbies and public areas, restaurant dining spaces, cafés, and boutique-scale upgrades. We also support full hotel repositioning projects. Project scope depends on your timeline, budget, and overall fit.

Hospitality interior design is our main focus at Kuiekem Studio, including boutique hotels and experience-led restaurants, cafés, and bakeries. We also take on selected commercial and residential interior design projects when the design style and budget are a strong fit. If your project isn't hospitality, book a strategy call and we'll confirm whether we're the right match.

That's often ideal. Your architect and contractor focus on technical planning and construction: permits, structure, services, and the build itself. Kuiekem Studio focuses on the hospitality interior concept and guest experience. We define the vision, atmosphere, and premium look and feel, then translate it into clear layouts, selections, and specifications. During execution, we support alignment with your build team so the design intent is delivered consistently, down to the smallest detail.

Yes. Kuiekem Studio can plan a phased hotel renovation or restaurant refresh to reduce disruption. Many hospitality interior design projects start with one model room, one suite, or one key area, then roll out in phases once the design direction is validated. It takes more planning upfront, but that's built into our process.

That's perfectly fine. A strategy call with Kuiekem Studio is still a good starting point. We can help you understand where your hospitality space stands today, what to prioritise, and how to plan ahead. When the timing is right, you'll already have a clear direction and can move faster.

Book a strategy call with Kuiekem Studio. After you schedule your call, we send you a short questionnaire so we can review your venue type, goals, timeline, and current challenges before we speak. That way we use the call to focus on what matters most to your project.

The Kuiekem Studio strategy call is a short introduction to understand your project, your current situation, and your priorities. We discuss your venue, your target guests, your budget range, and your timeline, and you can ask questions about our process, deliverables, and working style. This is not a design consultation, so we do not develop design solutions on the call. The purpose is to confirm fit and define the next steps

Interior design for hospitality goes far beyond choosing colours and furniture. At Kuiekem Studio, our hospitality interior design services include space planning, layout optimisation, guest flow and journey planning, zoning, lighting direction, acoustics considerations, material and finish selection, and the full specification and sourcing of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). The goal is a space that looks premium, works operationally, and supports how guests perceive your venue and what they're willing to pay.

Yes. Furniture selection and sourcing (FF&E) is always part of the Kuiekem Studio hospitality interior design offering. Depending on the size of the project and purchasing volume, we may handle sourcing only or manage the full ordering process. This is clarified early on, so you know exactly what we handle and what you manage internally.

That's exactly what the process is designed for. Before concept sign-off, we refine together until the direction feels right. Layouts, atmosphere, materials: everything is open for discussion and adjustment until we're fully aligned. Once the concept is approved, we move into specification and sourcing based on that agreed direction. If something needs to shift fundamentally after sign-off, we treat it as a scope adjustment and quote it separately before any new work begins. This keeps the project on track and on budget for both sides.

Kuiekem Studio uses a structured interior design process with a clear scope, defined deliverables, and decision checkpoints at every stage. You'll always know what's included, what decisions are coming next, and how any changes affect timeline and cost.

We also plan for the unexpected because it happens in every project. A product gets discontinued, a material has a longer lead time than expected, or a site condition reveals something that wasn't in the original plans. We build flexibility into the process so these situations are handled quickly without derailing the project or the budget. If something requires a decision with cost implications, you'll know before we act, not after.

We hear this more often than you'd think, and we understand the hesitation. The Kuiekem Studio process is designed to prevent exactly that: early alignment, clear deliverables, approval checkpoints at every stage, and full transparency so there are no surprises. If it helps, we can start with a pilot space before expanding to a full hotel or restaurant interior design rollout. The goal is to rebuild your confidence in the process, not just the result.
