RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL PORTFOLIO
The Same Bold Thinking. Different Spaces.
Kuiekem Studio is rooted in hospitality design, and that same approach, strategic, detail-driven, and full of personality, translates beautifully to selected residential, retail, and office projects. We take on non-hospitality work when the vision is bold and the fit is right.
My project, called Ayo House, began tentatively with a desire to make my home more luxurious. (…) I was very impressed by the completeness of the project delivery: a comprehensive design (2D and 3D), and an unbeatable shopping list, even after hours of comparison with other offers. Katleen’s always perfectly fulfill the specifications in terms of design, budget, and personal features. (…) I loved being able to rely on her list; it was such a relief! I highly recommend this experience!

Project Brief
A complete interior design of a three-floor, 205m² family home, from the entrance to the basement. The brief was warm, neutral, and family-friendly with enough personality to feel distinctive. Cream and beige form the base throughout, layered with dark wood, terracotta accents, and carefully chosen touches of African art that bring cultural richness without overwhelming the space.
Ground floor covers the entrance, kitchen, living and dining area, and a guest suite. The first floor brings together a children’s bedroom, home office, master bedroom, and family bathroom. The basement was transformed into an entertainment space with a bar kitchen and optimised storage, designed to be used and enjoyed rather than just admired. Three floors, multiple functions, a young family to design around, and one consistent material language running through all of it.
